THE RANFURLY SHIELD!

Hawkes Bay Rugby Union are the proud holders of the 2014 season's Ranfurly Shield!
We were lucky enough to spend some time with it. Parkvale School dressed in the hearty Black and White colours that our "Magpies" wear and we even got to hold it.
Our students learned some wonderful facts about the shield that they wanted to share with you, too.

 Did you know?

  • The Ranfurly Shield is named after Lord Ranfurly
  • It is 110 years old!
  • There are currently 29 small shields with winners names on it
  •  Hawkes Bay has only won it 5 times
  • We won the shield from Counties Manukau. We had to defend it 4 times against the Bay of Plenty, Otago, Wellington, and Southland

Calendar Art!

Our talented artists have completed their Calendar Art for 2015! The calendars are another opportunity for families to support the kids in school, but this time there is a bonus…you get to enjoy their fantastic art work for a whole year! They make fantastic presents for grandparents and family overseas, and are the result of a large amount of effort and time from the kids.
For those parents that couldn’t make it to the showing this afternoon,  I have created a video so that you can see your amazing artist’s efforts.
Awesome work, Room 4!

Can you find your piece of art?

What an amazing effort you all put in to make your show a success. Mrs Frewin is very proud of you all.

Room 4's "Happy"

Room 4 recently completed their assembly item. Our original plan was to create a music video and share it.However, technical issues made it difficult for us, and so we acted out a children's book that we liked, called the Grumble, Rumble, Mumbler, instead. I thought it would be fun to share our video anyway, so here is the famous, Room 4!

PRIDE AWARD Week 9

Congratulations to our little star Ella! Ella won her PRIDE award for showing great initiative and consideration. Ella knew she was going to be absent on Friday in week 8 which was a sausage sizzle fundraiser. She donated her own money to support the cause. Awesome stuff, Ella. Way to be a leader of thinking of others.
